The Extensor Carpi Ulnaris (or ECU for short) is an important muscle that runs along the outside of our forearm and attaches near the base of our pinky finger. The ECU is used when we bend our wrist backwards (extension), or bending our wrist towards the pinky side (ulnar deviation). It’s also an important wrist stabiliser during heavy gripping activities.
